Wingspan is a competitive, medium-weight, card-driven, engine-building board game!
You are bird enthusiasts—researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors—seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves. Each bird extends a chain of powerful combinations in one of your habitats (actions). These habitats focus on several key aspects of growth:
- Gain food tokens via custom dice in a birdfeeder dice tower
- Lay eggs using egg miniatures in a variety of colors
- Draw from hundreds of unique bird cards and play them

There are so many reasons to love this game: beautifully designed, well thought-out, and so much re-playability.
One of the best things about it is the low level of confrontational gaming. What I mean is when you play the game, you really only worry about yourself. There's no time in trying to make moves that actively disrupt another player, because that just puts you behind. No one knows who's winning until the final score is tallied.
The art is beautiful and you can learn so much about birds! The expansions are wonderful. The whole game is just so well designed, I can't praise it enough.
