Iron Chest is the largest—and the final—expansion for Iron Helm, and it packs a punch in terms of content. You will need the base game of Iron Helm to use this expansion. So what’s in the box?
The Spire of Zogar: This is the final Adventure Pack for Iron Helm and pits you against the evil tyrant Zogar himself! It consists of 18 cards including new loot, plot, and enemy cards—and a new boss: Zogar!
The Lonely Troll Inn: This 18-card pack unlocks the ability to hire henchmen before you set off on an adventure. Simply pay some gold and they will tag along. Each provides different perks and has unique morale mechanics. If they lose all morale, they’ll leave—unless you pay them more. A 12mm die is included to track your henchman’s morale. This pack also includes new trappings to equip your hero.
Beasts & Burdens: This 18-card pack introduces Afflictions—nasty conditions that alter gameplay. Maybe you suffer from gluttony and must eat twice as much between dungeon levels, or perhaps you're plagued and gain poison at an alarming rate! It also includes unique, stronger enemies and three mini-bosses that double as plot cards.
Realms & Relics: Want more powerful items in Iron Helm? Now you’ve got them! Artifacts are powerful relics obtained by spending blessing tokens when drawing loot. Spend the required tokens to draw an artifact card instead! This pack also introduces environment cards, drawn at the start of each dungeon level to change gameplay mechanics. Maybe you're in the Shadow level, where ambushes are always active, or the Parched, where fire creatures are stronger.
Random Encounters: Includes four double-sided jumbo map cards to track dungeon levels. Also includes three minis (Male Ranger, Female Warrior, and Male Wizard) to track your position. This pack adds new between-level encounter mechanics. Symbols on map cards indicate what you’ll face—perhaps a sprung trap, strange mushrooms, or a lurking foe.
Card Dividers: Maybe not the flashiest addition, but these handy dividers will keep your copy of Iron Helm well organized. And sometimes, order is sexy.
